Without further ado… My solo performance from the bellydance retreat and show in Costa Rica, early February. This song is a bit dark, but very special to me- it was the first song I ever bellydanced solo to (about 15 years ago?), so I thought it was fitting to dance to for my “return” to bellydance during this retreat. I completely made up idea for the intro seconds before walking onto the stage. 🤣 These are the moments I live for. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed performing it.

Also, I am immensely grateful to Ericka Zayas-Bazan for lending me the beautiful costume, and to Sadie Bellydance for hosting this invigorating retreat! 🖤

I’m BACK! I had the extreme pleasure of joining Sadie Bellydance at her amazing weeklong retreat in Costa Rica last week… and here’s one of my many soul-fueling experiences diving back into performance dance: I finally performed a live drum solo! (I can’t believe I’ve been bellydancing for almost 20 years and had never done this until now!) Sadie, Ericka, and Anna organized an amazing show on the beach in Jaco at the end of the week, and they asked if I would like to do an improv dance with the drum circle… so of course I said yes! I told the drummers it was my first drum solo, so please make it short… and then 5 minutes later he whispered “done”? I think I used my whole body to say YES 😆 But ugh, it was so much fun conversing with the drummers and expressing through dance.

This was also after 4 previous performances and a week of daily drills! Woohoo dove back into bellydance in an awesome way!

I was beyond thrilled to bellydance for my darling husband's 40th birthday party - for him and for all of our friends and family. It is with pure joy that I express my passion for dance to all of you, and I would love to again, any time! Thank you for being such a wonderful audience!

Thank you so much Leo Hernandez for capturing these! I had so much fun dancing again at Club Cleo.. As it might be my last dance in LA for a while before moving to Austin.. so I brought back the very first costume I performed in at Westside bellydance in Los Angeles.. aww nostalgia.

I will miss my LA bellydance family! But hopefully see you all again soon! Come see me dance in Austin TX if you're there!;) Lilililili!!
