El pasado viernes se inauguró finalmente el Teatro Capitol de Cieza, un proyecto de rehabilitación en el que hemos trabajado en los últimos años. Además de rehabilitar y ampliar el edificio original, de 1955, se ha incorporado una nueva caja escénica y se ha adaptado la estructura para que en adelante pueda albergar otros usos.

La inauguración corrió a cargo del Presidente de Murcia y de su Majestad la Reina doña Sofía, acompañados en su visita al edificio por Horacio Fernández del Castillo.

Horacio Fernández del Castillo, head of FDCA, is going to give a lecture on the future of heritage preservation at Shanghai's Tongji University's summer school. Only foreign architect invited to be part of this summer school, his lecture called "Learning from the Past: an Spanish approach to heritage preservation" will be delivered on August 9th 2013.

We demand that Denise Scott Brown be retroactively acknowledged for her work deserving of a joint Pritzker prize. His husband, Robert Venturi, won 1991's Prize and has since then asked for his fair share of the recognition.

After more than a hundred years of life, and more than a thousand projects rendered, Oscar Niemeyer passed away yesterday in Rio only ten days before his 105th anniversary.

It's not only a great loss for the world of architecture, as he was the last great master, of those who shaped the Modernist Architecture during most of the XXth century; but for his country, Brazil, that has long considered him as a national hero.

The poet of the curve, the master of concrete, the best ambassador Brazil has ever had is now gone... but his example already lays upon us.

Rest in peace, master
