Schoenfeld International String Competition was established to pay tribute to the legendary sisters, performers, and educators in the string world - Alice and Eleonore Schoenfeld. Our competition is based in Harbin, a city entitled "The City of Music” by Union Nations in 2010. In collaboration with Harbin Symphony Orchestra, the Grand Theatre, and the Conservatory of Music in Harbin, the Schoenfeld provides a unique and wide-ranging performance platform for promoting gifted violinists, cellists, and chamber music performers all over world.
Schoenfeld International String Competition was founded in 2013 in honour of the violinist Alice Schoenfeld and the cellist Eleonore Schoenfeld, both legendary performers and pedagogues. The competition is held biennially in Harbin since 2014 and became a member of World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC) in 2017.
The 5th Schoenfeld International String Competition will be held again in Harbin in the Summer of 2020. Thank you for all your support. We look forward to witnessing the rising stars of the musical world and having you as part of our spectacular event in Harbin!

In collaboration with the WFIMC, the Schoenfeld Competition will for the second time host the Dean & Schoenfeld Art Leaders’ Summit, this time on the theme of ‘Music Competitions & Artistic Legacy’. The summit will bring together CEOs and music competition directors within the WFIMC for an exchange of views on the artistic strategy, artistic legacy and artistic identities of competitions in different parts of the world, and on the role competitions play in the development of musical talent and cultural policy today.

哈尔滨勋菲尔德弦乐比赛（Schoenfeld International String Competition）成立于2013年，以纪念传奇的演奏和教育家：小提琴家爱丽丝．勋菲尔德（Alice Schoenfeld）和大提琴家爱伦诺．勋菲尔德（Eleonore Schoenfeld）。比赛自2014年起在历史悠久的哈尔滨之夏的框架下举办，并永久落户哈尔滨，已成功举办四届。
在2017年赛事成为世界国际音乐比赛联盟（WFIMC）会员，成为具世界影响力的综合弦乐大赛。哈尔滨勋菲尔德弦乐比赛的目标是在音乐之城哈尔滨市建立一个多元及高水平的平台，展示来自全球最具天赋的弦乐和室内乐演奏人才，促进世界古典音乐的发展，提高与增强广大民众对于高雅音乐文化艺术的认知，为更多的专业与爱乐者们打造与世界一流音乐表演大师接触和欣赏音乐的机会。
2010年6月，哈尔滨被联合国授予“音乐之都”称号，成为全国乃至整个亚洲第一个获此殊荣的城市。勋菲尔德国际弦乐协会结合哈尔滨独特的人文内涵与地域魅力，荟萃国际知名音乐家和学者，举办世界顶尖的综合弦乐比赛，挖掘各国的音乐天才，吸引全国音乐院校与艺术团体专家及音乐爱好者共聚一堂，为音乐之城哈尔滨的艺术文化事业提供持续的发展动力。在哈尔滨人民政府和哈尔滨音乐学院的支持下，勋菲尔德国际弦乐协会将联同哈尔滨交响乐团，哈尔滨大剧院，哈尔滨音乐厅 在 2020 夏天合力再举办第五届的国际弦乐比赛。
作为大型国际综合弦乐赛事，哈尔滨勋菲尔德弦乐比赛由哈尔滨市人民政府及哈尔滨音乐学院共同主办，一直延续着同时举行三项比赛组别的传统：分别是小提琴、大提琴及室内乐组别比赛。室内乐组别接受弦乐四重奏、钢琴三重奏以及钢琴四重奏这三种含弦乐演奏编制的组合报名。弦乐单项组别开放给年龄不超过 32 岁（1988年7月15日前出生）来自各国及地区的选手报名申请，室内乐组别开放给组员平均年龄不超过 35 岁的组合报名。赛事报名全程需要于比赛官网：schoenfeldcompetition.com 进行，截止日期为今年4月15日。比赛总奖金达150,000美元，小提琴和大提琴组的金奖获得者可各得 30, 000美元，室内乐组首奖获得组合可得奖金20,000美元，另外，赛事委员会还会为获奖者提供未来的演出，经纪人顾问服务及录音的机会。
本届赛事评委主席由法国小提琴大师及指挥家让-雅克．康托罗夫 Jean-Jacques Kantorow 以及芬兰大提琴大师奥托．诺拉斯 Arto Noras 担任，他们将率领由当今弦乐界最顶尖的领军人物组成的国际赛事评委团（包括：俞丽拿、Claudio Bohórquez 克劳迪奧．波霍盖兹、迈克．费申施拉格 Michael Frischenschlager、曹永昌 Young-Chang Cho、安妮．加斯提奈尔 Anne Gastinel、莱纳斯．洛斯 Linus Roth、史提芬．普波夫 Stefan Popov、迪米特里．斯特考夫茨基 Dmitry Sitkovetsky 等）进行专业和公正的评审工作。举办赛事的地点在哈尔滨音乐学院，哈尔滨音乐厅，哈尔滨大剧院，而小提琴和大提琴组的决赛将由具百年历史的哈尔滨交响乐团合作伴奏。
