On the morning of August 7, the tenth roundtable discussion of the 2026 "Chinese Learning of the Heart-Mind and the World"-An East Asian Dialogue on Confucianism was held at the Guiyang Confucius Academy.

Moderated by Chen Zhi, President and Chair Professor of Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University, three renowned Confucian scholars from home and abroad—Sato Masayuki, Yao Caigang, and Guo Yi—delivered presentations in succession. Their dialogue aimed to bridge the pre-Qin origins of nature of mind with the interpretive lineage of Song-Ming Confucianism, clarify the system of self-cultivation practices shaped by the integration of Confucianism and Daoism, and enrich the research dimensions of East Asian mind-nature philosophy.

On the morning of August 7, the ninth roundtable dialogue of the 2026 "Chinese Learning of the Heart-Mind and the World"-An East Asian Dialogue on Confucianism was held at the Guiyang Confucius Academy.

Moderated by Yan Binggang, distinguished professor and dean of the Rural Confucianism Research Institute at Qufu Normal University, and professor at the Advanced Institute for Confucian Studies at Shandong University, three renowned scholars from home and abroad—Liang Bingfu, Zeng Yi, and Chen Zhi—delivered presentations in succession.

They conducted in-depth discussions from three dimensions: the regional evolution of Confucianism, the moral principles and philosophical significance of the Spring and Autumn Annals, and the imperial examinations and classical studies in the late Ming Dynasty.

Building upon the successful consecutive hosting of the 2024 International Academic Symposium on "Chinese Learning of the Heart-Mind and the World" and the 2025 Sino-German Philosophy Dialogue, the 2026 "Chinese Learning of the Heart-Mind and the World"-An East Asian Dialogue on Confucianism is yet another international Confucian dialogue guided by the International Confucian Association and spearheaded by the Guiyang Confucius Academy.

From August 3 to 7, 30 senior Confucian scholars from 9 countries and regions at home and abroad gathered under the annual theme "Heart-Mind Learning and Classics: The Transmission and Ideological Innovation of East Asian Confucianism."

Confucian scholars conducted 10 in-depth academic dialogues with a breadth of mutual learning among global civilizations, a height of East Asian modernity, and a depth of spiritual transmission in Confucianism, achieving fruitful academic results.

On August 8, the 8th lecture of the "Cultural Nourishment of Mountainous Guizhou: Distinguished Scholars Lecture Series of the Colorful Guizhou 'Four Major Cultural Projects' Academic Committee" and the 1200th session of the Confucius Academy Forum commenced at the Guiyang Confucius Academy.

Wu Genyou, member of the Academic Committee for the Colorful Guizhou "Yangming Culture Transformation and Application Project" and professor at the Ma Yifu Institute and the School of Philosophy of Zhejiang University, was invited to the forum. Delivering a lecture titled "The Contemporary Significance of 'Extending Innate Knowing' and 'Deeply Engaged' Knowledge: A Discussion on the Significance of Wang Yangming's Theory of 'Extending Innate Knowing' in the AI Era," he anchored his talk in the historical origins of Wang Yangming's enlightenment at Longchang, Guizhou, and his doctrine of "extending innate knowing." Combining Guizhou's creative and innovative practices in utilizing Yangming culture, he attempted to integrate traditional heart-mind learning wisdom with the propositions of the AI era. By analyzing the phenomenon in the age of AI where knowledge acquisition is effortless yet often lacks "deeply personal" engagement, he deeply expounded on the modern significance and unique value of Wang Yangming's heart-mind learning in shaping human spiritual beliefs and other dimensions.

On the afternoon of August 6, the seventh roundtable dialogue of the 2026 "Chinese Learning of the Heart-Mind and the World"-An East Asian Dialogue on Confucianism was successfully held at the International Research Center for Chinese Culture of the Confucius Academy. Hosted by Lin Anwu, Dean of the Yuanheng Academy in Taiwan, specially appointed professor at the Center for Zhouyi &Ancient Chinese Philosophy at Shandong University, and Vice President of the International Confucian Associations, three scholars—Yan Binggang, Li Haoran, and Zhao Yonggang—delivered special presentations in succession. On the afternoon of August 6, the eighth roundtable dialogue of the 2026 "Chinese Learning of the Heart-Mind and the World"-An East Asian Dialogue on Confucianism was successfully held at the Confucius Academy. Moderated by Zheng Bufu, senior professor at the Graduate Institute of Classics at National Kaohsiung Normal University, executive director of the Taiwan Association of Classical Studies, and member of the International Confucian Association, three scholars—Liu Bin, Park Hyun-jung, and Shen Shunfu—delivered special presentations in succession. Their presentations injected multiple perspectives—including Zhouyi philosophy, the genealogy of self-cultivation methodologies, and modern disciplinary dialogues—into this year's annual symposium themed "Heart-Mind Learning and Classics: The Transmission and Ideological Innovation of East Asian Confucianism."
