i’m having spicy withdrawal 🌶️🌶️🌶️ and i can’t count how many times i’ve said “你有辣酱吗?” during my seven months living here 🥀 cantonese cuisine is still so superior, but sometimes it’s very hard to find dishes with an extra kick •••

a little fun tmi = i’ve been consuming bird’s eye chili ever since i was 4 years old, and being a surabayan means i have an unproof level spice tolerance compared to most people i’ve met (is this even a flex?)… also… i’m proud to share my mom’s sambal bawang recipe, which is basically a staple on our dining table, this sambal is unlike malaysian cuisine sambal.. i’d say this one is much simpler to make and vegan friendly :•) (no need to use ikan bilis or belacan)

our favorite way to pair this sambal is with crispy fried tempe 🤩 or garlic crackers... i'm drooling rn!

if you hv ever lived with a beagle or any type of hound dog, you’ll know their flappy ears are prone to bacteria and fungi that can produce an awful smell 🦠 my mom always finds a way to clean and soothe his ears 😤 though he might overreact and immediately wrinkle his snout the moment he catches my mom holding an alcohol swab… but we love him so much that a little stinkiness and madness mean nothing compared to our love awwwe🐒 happy valentine's day!!!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️
