New fabric in the WINK GAL sample room this week: a polka-dot print cut into spliced panels for a cami dress 🧵 The work is in the lay marker — dot pitch has to read continuous across every panel seam, and the bias-cut skirt has to match at the sides without dropping off-grain. On the table in our sample room this week: a black evening dress in matte crepe, bias-cut through the skirt, with hand-beaded placement doing all the work 🪡 We kept the ground matte on purpose — small beads read sharper against a surface that does not shine back. Something different from us this season: a bohemian co-ord in a new sequin fabric 🧵 Instead of a dense all-over sequin mesh, we are running tape sequin on a lighter georgette-weight ground — it drapes and moves with the body rather than holding a stiff shell. New fabric on the bench this week: a micro-sequin mesh, 3mm all-over sequin on 4-way stretch ground 🧵 We took it straight into the sample room and cut it as a halter-neck mini — self-fabric halter tie, fully self-lined body, clean hem with no exposed sequin edge.
