It's so impressive that they managed to squeeze such a monster of a coaster inside this building, and probably even more impressive that they then designed a spinning coaster to wrap around it π
But overall the ride experience on TMNT Shellraiser isn't a great one π€
As always with Euro-Fighters, the back row was better, but the front row during the second half was pretty brutal!
First half was actually alright, but those valleys after the main drop really did have that horrible judder that just sends such a striking pain feeling through my head. My head didn't even bang against the restraint or anything, but those violent bumps really are so aggressive!
In comparison to Takabisha, it's definitely more painful. I was prepared for the worst before my first ride on Takabisha, and I'll never forget getting off at the end being totally shocked that I didn't have a migraine π So much so I ended up riding it 5 times π
Don't get me wrong, Takabisha is still a Euro-Fighter, so it's still not perfect, but it's more enjoyable π
TMNT also isn't helped by the line up around it. If you ride it first and get a head ache, riding 2 pretty aggressive spinning coasters after isn't going to help you π
I feel like I've been far too negative here and I don't like it, so for balance, I do still enjoy TMNT, (I mean I went for a reride so it couldn't have been THAT bad). It's a mightily impressive coaster to look at, in either location, with Mount Fuji in the back ground or with the mass of coaster track in the shed.
One plus that TMNT has over Takabisha is the very cool near miss from the track of Shredder as you go down the steep drop! It's such a cool visual as you're being held at the top, as it genuinely looks like you're gonna hit that purple track π
