AI as partner, not replacement

Young professionals unlock high-value roles amid rising demand for human unique strengths.

The most sought-after skill in today’s job market is the capacity to embed AI into practical workflows to tackle specific challenges. Going forward, proficiency in leveraging AI as a collaborative work partner will create substantial gaps among employees in work quality and productivity.

A report indicates that 38 percent of Chinese enterprises are rolling out AI solutions, while an additional 38 percent are running pilot programs. Most firms in China are providing staff with AI training and upskilling opportunities, evidence that Chinese companies are more proactive than the global average in building future-ready talent.

AI makes deductions based on fixed logic and probabilities, yet it cannot replicate humans’ unpredictable thinking, lived experiences and naturally arising emotions.

Ever-blooming Chinese roses

Domestic varieties of popular flower in global spotlight after the recent meeting of Xi and Trump in the Chinese capital.

US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping admired centuries-old Chinese roses in Zhongnanhai during Trump’s Beijing trip in May, , where Xi offered seeds of the 490-year-old rose tree as a gift.

From imperial gardens to neighborhood parks, these resilient, fragrant flowers embellish cultural and urban landscapes around the country, with Beijing the most famous example.

The Chinese rose has a history stretching over 2,000 years. Over the millennia, poets and scholars have celebrated the beauty of Chinese roses.

When these Chinese roses reached Europe, European breeders crossed these with local roses, solving long-standing challenges of short flowering seasons and weak fragrances. This exchange set the stage for centuries of hybridization. Today, over 40,000 rose varieties thrive around the world, thanks largely to their Chinese predecessors.
