Happy Women's day to all the Ladies in the house 🙌💪

Happy Women's day to our exceptional Figure in Ndian Division. Moineni Nwa Barana. Madam Esther Omam .

The Republic of Cameroon is on its delightful atmosphere as the iconic women of the nation will be parading themselves in their succulent colorful women's day attire.

A global day observed internationally celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, a day kept special for an appraisal to that woman of substance, whose positive actions speaks for her.

A peaceful day with little sunshine couple with an average sea breeze coming from the riverbank as foretold by the sea goddess, will be marked by total excitement, profound recognition of the aspiring women in our contemporary society through their good deeds, eating, drinking, and dancing will embrace the day.

As the theme of this year celebration entails, the women seek for " Rights . Justice . Actions. For All Women and Girls. This day is also covered by the Maputo protocol on the rights of women in Africa.

They seek for justice, as certain Ill treatment given to them are seriously condemned, especially domestic violence. They also need space to breathe as humans of equal right. Their voices to be heard, and to exercise their potentials in the quest for change in some of our dilapidated institutions. Their actions are more powerful and resonating positively that the world can't do without.

This celebration takes us to Ndian Division in the Southwest Region of Cameroon, as we honor and celebrate with Madam Esther Omam of Boa Balondo in Bamusso subdivision inside Ndian Division. The Executive Director of Reach out Cameroon.

This iconic lady of substance has been championing some of the social and humanitarian affairs of Ndian Division , supporting and providing healthcare and other basic facilities in her subdivision and Ndian as a whole. She was recently installed as the Light of her people with a special traditional title as "Moineni Nwa Barana". Meaning " The Light of the Women ".

A brief story of Bo Konja in Oroko land

The celebration of a nursing mother with first born child in Oroko land.

🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

This is the day that the parents/husband of a nursing mother with first born child, decide to celebrate her Bo Konja. She will move with a bunch of plantain tied with iso made rope on her back , including a bell on her waist , painted in white and red powder (calaba powder). The first born and those with first Born still alive will be plucking plantains from her back while the members of the cult will be singing the Bo Konja songs. This is a big feast in Oroko Nation . After the celebration, the bell will stay on her waist for four days before it can be removed for her to start her daily activities if the child is grown abit that she can leave the child and rush to the farm without staying for long. After the celebration, she can now move freely in the village to visit friends with her kid. She can even travel. So this rituals is to officially open her way to go out of her nursing room. It's also a sign of respect to the child and the nursing mother in our Oroko land. This is because there are places or songs that only the Bo Konja members can attend or dance. It's a big ritual, I myself OROKO Cultural Prince I'm also a member of this cult. Cuz my parents did my Bo Konja and when I grew up I was fully initiated. It has its secret, like ways of greetings when the Bo Konja is going on by members. So you can not join the dance when you are not a member because they will know through the signs of greetings, but to plug a finger of plantain is normal to all the first born 🥰💪
