From the 24-28th of august 2021, women in bamenda made a conscious decision to reaffirm their determination to dare filmmaking, Davlinks being aware of the strength and power of the woman gave in their undying support by partnering with this laudable initiative organized by nalevelempire
The Bamenda Women in film workshop which started on the 24th of August ended over the weekend precisely at the premises of the regional delegation of arts and culture on the 29th of August 2021 in the presence of the regional delegate. This project initiative designed by Na Level Empire to use entertainment as a medium to demonstrate, enhance and promote peace and social cohesion amongst women, diplomatic mission and communities.
The focus is to improve on social cohesion amongst youth’s especially in times of crisis and to further bring about an everlasting solution amidst the crisis all over Cameroon especially in the northwest and southwest regions.
The theme of this edition is “Cinema in a crisis stricken economic space”. This first phase amongst other things was to identify and select five passionate women/young girls who have vision, passion and desire to embark in a career in filmmaking. During the five days of intensive training, they were drilled on:-

-Developing a business plan/ Content Marketing and way out
-Film production Goals and opportunities
-Telling story with the Camera -Cinematography/photography -Screenplay Development Concept of film directing

The exercise ended successfully with the participants testifying how beneficial the workshop has been to them. As part of a continuity process by the five selected filmmakers, they are expected to develop a 26 minute film each with focus on “peace building” as main theme within 3weeks.
Within this period, Na level team will be heading to Yaounde, Limbe/Buea and Baffousam respectively for a similar exercise which we intern to shortlist five filmmakers in each of these regions in preparation for the second phase.
The second part of the project will be focused on realizing and producing five short films by these chosen filmmakers whom we will fund and supervise.
