I once had a confrontation in Yaoundé where a guy pulled out a knife and threatened to stab me. My friend in the photo below immediately stepped in front of me and said, “you'll have to stab me first before stabbing him".”

Days later, I looked at him and asked, “Were you really ready to die for me?” We both chuckled and avoided the conversation. 😹

Now, whenever someone tells me they love me, I wonder if it’s the same kind of love my friend has for me. 😂

This man set the bar TOO HIGH.

I am grateful for amazing friends, I am grateful for Pchords 🙏💯

One of the first and most pressing challenges I faced after moving to Kribi was figuring out how to continue my work.

I still found myself traveling over 70 km back to the Southwest just to record my audio poems with producers there. As much as I love the road, those frequent trips were becoming exhausting. 😅

Thanks to the support I received through the Special Relief Grant from Prince Claus Fund, and with the help of my very first producer and brother in the arts, Pchords, I’ve finally been able to set up a little studio space right here at home. ❤️🏿

I can now record, create, and work from Kribi without constantly packing my bags and hitting the road. 😂

Goodbye to the frequent, tiring trips! 👋🏿

Now, if you’re in Kribi and know your way around these equipments, please be my friend. 😹🤲🏿

My stay in Douala officially comes to a close after an incredible invitation to experience & represent our organization, STAGE LIFE at the “Rentrée The O’ 2026.” ✨

On September 12th, we, the OKWELIANS, gathered at Rebuntu House to reconnect, network, exchange perspectives, and share ideas as we look ahead to the new year—and, of course, celebrate the prestigious O’Awards. 🏆

As an artist who operates almost at the intersection of art and civil society, this invitation meant so much to me.

It reminded me that artists are not merely entertainers. We are stakeholders in the conversations shaping our communities, our societies, and our future.

Grateful for the invitation, the conversations, the connections, and the opportunity to be in the room.

There's no place for average,
But there is for excellence.
No one is gonna applaud you for trying-
So if you must eat your bread,
Make sure you leave no crumbs.

I love seeing our public figures and influencers move beyond the noise, buzz and endless online back-and-forth to champion practical, sustainable solutions to the everyday problems people face.

Young people are in dire need of hope, direction and solutions, not being dragged into pointless disputes and fights that ultimately benefit nobody except the algorithm, likes and followers.

Thank you mummy Captain Edith Delight.
