At REGARTLESS, we remain steadfast in our commitment to protecting and preserving cultural heritage, especially in communities affected by conflict and displacement in Cameroon. We are currently carrying out emergency assessments in royal palaces and museums to document the condition of endangered cultural collections. The findings are alarming: years of insecurity and abandonment have left many sacred and historic objects at serious risk of irreversible loss.
Beyond documenting the crisis, we are working alongside traditional authorities and local communities to identify the most endangered objects, prioritize emergency conservation, and develop sustainable, community-led approaches to safeguarding this irreplaceable heritage.
Protecting cultural heritage is not a luxury reserved for times of peace—it is an essential part of humanitarian response, recovery, and lasting peace. Every object preserved is a story saved, a people remembered, and a future strengthened.
