Cameroon’s First Daughter, Brenda Biya, says people no longer treat her as the President’s daughter after Issa Tchiroma Bakary claimed victory in the October 12 presidential election.
Brenda, who had earlier urged Cameroonians not to vote for her father, President Paul Biya, says she now feels disrespected and believes Tchiroma’s declaration has made her irrelevant in the public eye.
She claims that people now treat her like an ordinary person and that she has even been mocked when paying for hotel services.
Brenda Biya made headlines prior to the election after releasing, and later retracting, a statement in which she called on Cameroonians not to re-elect her father, citing her personal experiences and expressing solidarity with the struggles of ordinary citizens.
