🔥 ABAKWA TOKS TURNED UP AT DEVANM-CTA! 🔥

Yesterday, our very own DePreacher, Wafor Nadine Nkeina, and Bantar Courage Nforshi took over the preliminary stage of the DEVANM-CTA Season 1 competition in Bamenda! 🎤🎭

With Coach Lanjo sitting on the judges’ panel (talk about pressure!) and our fearless supporters Medine Yahje & Tulah Chrystaline cheering from the crowd, it was truly a Voices Unbound takeover! 💪

The votes (via Mobile Money at 100 FCFA each) have been counted, and the results are dropping TODAY! 🤞📢

Did our spoken word poets and actress make the cut for the next stage? We are waiting with bated breath!

Three Abakwa Toks trainees—De Preacher, Bantar Courage Nforshi, and Wafor Nadege Nkeina—stormed the DEVANM-CTA talent competition prelims in Bamenda. Supported by Medine Yahje and Tulah Crystalline, they performed before a judging panel that included their very own Coach Lanjo. 🎤 HOW ABAKWA TOKS BEGAN

A room of 10 poets. A few trainers. A shared belief that words matter.

On April 30th, 2025, the Abakwa Spoken Word Poetry Workshop was held at Y'G Inc., Bamenda. It brought together 10+ poets—beginners and practitioners—for training on the life of an artist, purpose, branding, writing, and performance.

Trainers included Akumbu Bubu, Lanjo , Amstrong Fombiyong, Nfor Yembe, Yeeika Desmond, and Mottanni. Organized by Mottanni, Nubia Nahbila, and De Preacher, in partnership with Y'G Inc., Lanjo Coaching, Ngraffi Fine Arts, and Mottanni Inc.

That one workshop grew into a movement. Today, Abakwa Toks is a monthly platform for poetry, music, dance, debates, panels, and creative training.

Bamenda Season 01 Episode 06: MANKA ENTERS THE CHAT!

Bessem's bestie Manka has arrived, and she is SHOOK! 😱

"Akwara. Abeg leave me, make feed ma eyes."

She's walking around Ambe's house like it's a museum! 🏠

"See parlour, see chair, see ceiling, see floor! Mami eh see flat screen fo wall... 85 inch!" 📺

Then she spots the wine bar and starts calling bottles by name like they're old friends! 🍾

"Baileys, red label, black label, tour de cantelo, cosigna, chateau Royal!"

Bessem: "Wey eh baby, leave am so noh!" 😭

Manka: "Abeg cam put me mimbo, make a drink first!"

This is what happens when your friend finds out you've been hiding a RICH man! 💰

🎤⚽🎨 THE BAFANA PRO ENTERTAINMENT TOUR HEADS TO BEHIND CHE JUNCTION!

Art, music, football, and community—all coming together for two unforgettable days in Bamenda!

On August 15th and 16th, 2026, Behind Che Tap will come alive with an incredible fusion of spoken word poetry, hip-hop, reggae, live painting, and dance. And before the show, we kick things off with a football match between the Back Mortuary Veterans and the Entertainers!

🎶 Performance Lineup:

Spoken Word: Mottanni & Medine Yahje (addressing cyber crime and child abuse)

Music: Ezao, HuXula, Black King, Us Meshag Kings, Eddy Wonder, Charles Common Man, Divine Mokoro, Makwando, Guluma, Awaje, DOH, Manel Kim & more

Live Painting: Mbeng Arts

Instrumentalists: Achiri (Achiriyano), Blaise Bass, Derrick, Vally Drums, Makwando

🎤 The spoken word artists will address two critical issues: cyber crime and child abuse. This is more than entertainment—it's a movement for awareness and change.
