If what is being reported is true, then Wizkid's anger is justified.
You might not understand the pain if you've not been in those shoes. Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy are like the three biggest musicians in Africa.
If Puma approaches wizkid for a renewal and he says he now charges higher, there's no problem if they don't want to renew.
But why will Davido approach Puma himself? And not just that you approached Puma, you still collected lesser than what was being given to Wizkid, not even what he was collecting before! Wizkid was right, everything about Davido screams cheap!
First off, why will a big superstar like you approach a brand begging to be endorsed? That screams of serious desperation!
Secondly, Davido is known to act classless sometimes. All he cares about is the money, forgetting that his reputation matters more.
Davido is the only artist in Nigeria that they'll bring a Pako biscuit deal for and he'll sign. If you package Paraga and bring for Davido, he'll sign. Like, why is he the face of Munch It? Let's be honest, is he not bigger than the Infinix deal?
Just bring money, he'll collect. Look at what he did with Rackstelling. Look at what he did with that cryptocurrency. Wizkid is right, all he cares about is money. Cheap and easy cash.
Let me break down that Puma stuff to you in layman's terms. You know most business people have an association. Take for example, people that grind pepper in Lagos. Once they agree on a certain price, they won't grind your pepper below that amount. If A tells you it's 100 Naira and you go to B, they'll still tell you it's 100 Naira. But, Davido will ask you to bring 20 Naira so he can grind it for you. What it means is that he's jeopardising the integrity of the association!!! Imagine someone coming to meet you for negotiation and after telling them your price, they say "but Davido collected 1 Naira for the same thing".
I heard this is the same thing he does with music. David will never reject your money ooo! David might say he's collecting 100000 dollars for a show. If you tell him you have 40000, he'll ask you to bring it. No, it's not business! It's underpricing yourself, your brand!!!
For someone who claims to be born into wealth, David is too tactless and acts classless.
