OJOS DE VITRAL EN EL PASADO

Chica de los años 50; posiblemente trabaja en una oficina, a la que debe asistir con uniforme y maquillada. Sus ojos son celestes y su mirada parece perdida en algún recuerdo. La noche la envuelve, pero el brillo del cielo se une al de sus ojos, haciéndola parecer dentro de un vitral, congelada en el tiempo.

A esta obra le tengo especial cariño, porque con ella me abrí paso en la exploración del personaje que quería representar con mi tejido. También definió los primeros rasgos de mi manera de tejer en crochet freeform.

La realicé en 2023, cuando me encontraba en tierra extranjera. Aunque me sentía en casa, también vivía muchos momentos de soledad. Este es, sin duda, uno de los hitos personales más significativos de esa época: crear.

STAINED-GLASS EYES IN THE PAST

A girl from the 1950s; she probably works in an office, where she has to show up in a uniform and wearing makeup. Her eyes are sky blue, and her gaze seems lost in some memory. Night envelops her, but the glow of the sky blends with the sparkle in her eyes, making it seem as if she were inside a display window, frozen in time.

I have a special fondness for this piece because it marked my first step in exploring the character I wanted to portray through my work. It also defined the early characteristics of my free-form crochet style.

I created it in 2023, while living abroad. Although I felt at home, I also experienced many moments of loneliness. This is, without a doubt, one of the most significant personal milestones of that time: creating.
