MESSAGE OF UNITY AND SOLIDARITY TO THE PEOPLE OF FANGAK NUER
Dear People of Fangak,
For many years, our beloved land of Fangak has endured immense suffering. Since the devastating floods began in 2016, our communities have faced continuous hardship. Homes have been destroyed, livestock have perished, farms have been washed away, and diseases have spread across our land. Many families have lost their livelihoods and have been forced to survive in difficult conditions within the swamps and scattered highlands.
Despite these challenges, the spirit of Fangak has never been broken. Our youths, elders, women, and local leaders have stood together to protect our people. We recognize and appreciate the efforts of Old Fangak RRC Supervisor, Phariel Manyang, who has worked alongside the youth and local administration in constructing mud d***s to protect communities from the floods.
The suffering deepened when the MSF-France Hospital in Old Fangak, a lifeline for thousands of people, was attacked on May 3, 2025. This tragic event left over 110,000 people facing even greater difficulties in accessing healthcare and humanitarian assistance.
Today, more than ever, we call upon all Fangak Nuer sons and daughters to stand together in solidarity, unity, and mutual support. Let us set aside our differences and work together for the future of our people. Let us support one another, strengthen our communities, and continue to advocate for peace, humanitarian assistance, and development.
The floods may have destroyed our homes and livelihoods, but they cannot destroy our unity, courage, and determination. Fangak has overcome challenges before, and together we will overcome these hardships as well.
Let us remain united, hopeful, and committed to rebuilding our communities for future generations.
One People, One Fangak, One Future.
May God bless the people of Fangak and grant strength to all those who continue to endure and serve our communities.
