Bertin Kasolene is a Congolese dancer, choreographer, teacher and activist whose work is rooted in the belief that dance heals, brings people together, and awakens the senses. Born in a region scarred by war, he has turned the body into a space for resilience and transformation. For Bertin, every gesture is a breath of freedom, every movement a prayer for peace.
Trained at the École des Sables in Senegal, he has developed a choreographic language that combines traditional African dance, contemporary dance, and somatic practices. His dance exudes Africa, memory, and hope, a journey of the body toward the light.
Co-founder and coordinator of NGUVU YA AFRICA and founder of INUKA DANCE COMPANY, Bertin Kasolene creates spaces where art becomes a lever for healing and empowerment for children, youth, young girls and women. Through these initiatives, he transmits the power of movement as an act of individual and collective rebirth.
Bertin’s approach is nourished by the vision of Golden Bridge's SomaSource, whose teachings he integrates into his pedagogy. Bertin thus guides people into an embodied, conscious, and deeply human dance experience, a dance that listens to the earth, carries forgotten voices, and reinvents beauty in the heart of chaos.
Through his creations and workshops, he transforms the stage into a place of healing and hope. His dance, both rooted and visionary, tells the story of Africa rising, breathing, and dreaming again!
