Sexual Violence Awareness Week 2026 💜
Rooted in Belonging

This year's theme, Rooted in Belonging, invites us to think about what it really means to create communities where everyone feels safe, respected, valued, and able to be themselves.

Belonging isn't just about having a place in a community.

It's about knowing that your boundaries matter.
It's about being able to say no without fear.
It's about being respected regardless of your gender, identity, age, ability, relationship status, or circumstances.
It's about being able to ask for help without shame.
It's about knowing that someone will listen when you say, “This isn't okay.”

Preventing sexual violence isn't only about what happens after someone is harmed. It's about the communities we create every day.

Communities rooted in belonging are communities where:

🌱 Consent is respected.
🌱 Boundaries are taken seriously.
🌱 Victims and survivors are believed and supported.
🌱 Harmful attitudes and behaviors are challenged.
🌱 People look out for one another.
🌱 Everyone has the right to feel safe.

Belonging should never come at the cost of someone's safety.

💜 Let's grow communities rooted in belonging.
