Communication is Key for Player Development!

Most players glide into these… the best ones sell them.

Here’s how to actually execute:

• Attack with speed first — if you’re not threatening wide or pushing a defender back, the move won’t work
• Sell the lane — eyes, shoulders, and stick all point one way before you cut
• Hard edge stop — snap your inside edge to create instant separation (no drifting)
• Explode out — first 2–3 strides after the turn should be your hardest
• Protect the puck — keep it on your hip, away from pressure
• Head up immediately — be ready to pass, shoot, or cut again

Button hook = create space from pressure
Cut back = make defenders overcommit

If you feel rushed, you’re doing it right — just learn to control it.

Master the timing, not just the move.

After years of being around the game and working with players on the ice, I’m excited to finally launch this page and continue building something I care deeply about.

Hockey has given me so much over the years, and one of the most rewarding parts of the game for me is helping players grow — not just in their skating and skills, but in their confidence and love for the game.

Through Momentum Power Skating & Skills, my goal is to help players become more complete athletes by focusing on the details that make a real difference: skating mechanics, edge control, puck handling, shooting, and developing habits that translate into game situations!

This page will be a place where I share training clips, drills, and insights from the ice to help players keep improving and stay motivated.
