A year ago today I was in Trinidad caring for my eldest son who was dying of cancer. There was a beautiful garden in his compound that had a koi pond with a waterfall where I would go to recharge and find the strength to go on. This is my felted piece of my memory of the time I was able to spend with him and one of the hardest time I have ever experienced. For me prayer has always been my thanks for the beauty around me.

Here is the first of my Manitoba Winter series . This started with a photo from my Art friend Huguette. It was actually taken by her partner Keith (of course I have permission) It was such a compelling photo that I just had to use it as my inspiration for the “start” of my winter Manitoba series😁

Continuing on my needle felting journey. I am creating small pieces of needle felting and using beautiful wood and live edge slabs as frames. Very interesting technique and I can see that I am going to enjoy alternating my wet felted landscapes with needke fekted landscaoes.

I have been experimenting with needle felting landscapes (I am normally a wet felting landscape artist) and I started small with the idea of setting my art into a piece of live edge wood. The felted piece in only 5.75" x 3.75" but the live wood frame is 17 x 6.5" created by my talented daughter who is a cabinet maker. I really love the effect. I have 2 more prepared and just waiting for my live wood frame to be completed. I really enjoyed the needle felting process.
