Today is Recovery Day.
Recovery doesn’t look the same for everyone, and there is no single path that works for everyone.
For some, recovery may mean abstinence. For others, it may mean reducing substance use, accessing treatment, practising harm reduction, finding stable housing, reconnecting with family, rebuilding relationships, returning to work, or finding a greater sense of stability and connection.
Recovery can also change over time. What someone needs at one point in their journey may not be what they need later.
That’s why meeting people where they are matters.
Today, we celebrate the many pathways to recovery, the people walking them, and the communities that support them.
Recovery is possible. Recovery is worth celebrating.
