Another piece finished 🖤
About 1 hour and 20 minutes total — and honestly, another huge learning experience for me.
This piece was for Candie Apple — one of my very first repeat clients 🖤 which honestly means so much to me. The fact that someone trusts me enough to come back again while I continue learning and growing is something I’ll never take lightly.
The stencil decided it wanted to disappear halfway through 😅 so instead of pretending I had it all figured out, I stopped, communicated with my client, and reapplied it to make sure I gave her the best result possible.
Was it perfectly lined back up? No. Was I honest about it? Absolutely.
Did we adapt and make it work together? Yep. 💪
Halfway through, we also realized laying on her stomach for that long was getting uncomfortable, so we switched positions and finished the piece with her sitting upright instead. Definitely a different experience for me artistically and ergonomically, but another reminder that tattooing is all about adapting in real time.
I was also testing out a new needle cartridge during this session, so between the stencil chaos, repositioning, and trying new equipment, this piece truly became one of those “learn as you go” moments 😅
One thing I’m really learning about tattooing is that it’s not just about the tattoo itself — it’s problem solving, communication, adapting, and staying calm when things don’t go exactly to plan.
And yes… before my fellow perfectionists point it out 😅 I already noticed the piece sits slightly off center after reapplying the stencil midway through.
I offered to balance it out with additional floral detail later if she ever wants it, but thankfully she still loved the piece exactly as it is 🖤
Every session teaches me something new, and honestly… I love that part.
Thank you to everyone trusting me while I continue growing, learning, and building GetInked piece by piece. 🖤
Progress over perfection.
Always.
Now, off to start working on my next piece for tonight!
