Our summer workshop series focuses on more advanced training opportunities. Designed for the intermediate and up dancer looking for a challenge. Expect foundations, foundations, foundations! Advanced does not always mean fast. Advanced does not need more choreography. Advanced doesn’t have to be about tricks. Come learn the control to command the stage. Available to dancers 17 years and up.

$30 per class or $105 for all four. Register for individual workshops, or select the Advanced Workshop Series session pass under the Store tab.

Not advanced? Our Open Drop In classes are recommended to participants with less experience.

Join us Tuesday June 9th 7:30 to 9:30pm at the VA studio for a great night of dance and an opportunity to perform more with us. The audition will include jazz technique, across the floor patterns, and a combo. Please bring character shoes or heels you can dance in.

You will be auditioning for a spot in our performance training program. We are looking for dancers with jazz training, with heels training being an asset. There is also an expectation to learn tap.

Youth Performance Training Program

🦌We are expanding our Christmas Kick Off cast! For the last two years Velvet Antler Productions has hosted a community holiday show at the Yukon Arts Centre, and it just keeps growing!

This year, Velvet Antler Productions is holding auditions for youth ages 9 to 14 years with ballet and jazz experience. This performance training program will build strong showmanship, team dynamics, and precision in choreography. We are looking for young dancers with strong battements, clean single pirouettes, and quick choreography retention.

The audition will be held Monday June 8th 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Velvet Antler studio at 104 Tungsten Rd. Please arrive 10 minutes early in order to sign in and gather in the space. We will start with a brief parent meeting, and class will begin shortly after. Parents are welcome to watch, but VA has very limited viewing space and we request that siblings stay home. Dancers are expected to have their hair up off their face and neck, with a clean leotard, and jazz shoes.

Christmas Kick Off Community Performance Program

🎄This invitational program is for VA community dancers, ages 17 years and up, interested in more focused training and the opportunity to perform with us in our Christmas Kick Off show at the Yukon Arts Centre, November 24 to 28.

As part of this performance program you’ll receive training in tap and precision heels - think Rockettes! There will be an attendance expectation of dancers to make weekly training a priority and production rehearsals mandatory. We are looking for dancers open to continued improvement and coachability.

Please email us with your questions, but you can show your interest in this program by attending our Professional Performance Program auditions, signing up for summer classes, as well as our pre-season Kick Off intensive.

VA Professional Performance Program

📣Join us Tuesday June 9th 7:30 to 9:30pm at the VA studio for a great night of dance and an opportunity to perform more with us. The audition will include jazz technique, across the floor patterns, and a combo. Please bring character shoes or heels you can dance in.

You will be auditioning for a spot in our performance training program. We are looking for dancers with extensive jazz training, with heels training being an asset. There is also an expectation to learn tap. Participants will have unique performance opportunities throughout VA’s season, but does not mean you will automatically be cast in every show.

Performance opportunities include Christmas Kickoff at YAC, Naughty Nutcracker, the Spring Showcase, and maybe more! A full calendar of rehearsals and show dates will be available at the auditions so you can make your decisions fully aware of the time commitment.
