In 2015, Larrikin Entertainment set out to make bold, imaginative theatre in the Yukon. Since then, we've staged plays, sparked conversations, gathered remarkable artists, and shared countless stories with audiences who have supported us every step of the way.

Now, over a decade later, we're inviting you to raise a teacup with us. Whether you've been with us since the beginning or are just discovering Larrikin, we'd love to celebrate with you.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated tea cups and saucers for our upcoming Tea Time by the Yukon River fundraiser. Thanks to your generosity, we're well on our way to creating a fantastically festive experience!

But our dishware quest isn't quite over.

We're still looking for small- and medium-sized, fine porcelain plates or 3-tiered serving stands to help us pile high an abundance of sweets, savouries, and freshly baked scones in all their tea-time splendor.

If you've got cups, saucers, plates or stands tucked away, awaiting their next grand occasion, we'd be thrilled to give them a day in the spotlight.

Every plate helps us create a beautiful afternoon and support bold, imaginative, locally made Yukon theatre.

There are many excellent reasons to join us for Tea Time by the Yukon River.

The tea, for one. The river view, certainly. The frankly irresponsible quantity of baked goods? Absolutely.

But beyond the scones, sandwiches, and sweet treats, your seat at the table helps fuel something much bigger.

Every ticket supports Yukon artists, performers, musicians, writers, designers, technicians, and emerging creators as we continue making bold, ambitious, occasionally mischievous, and proudly homegrown theatre.

Since 2015, Larrikin has been serving up imaginative stories with a distinctly Yukon flavour — from Often I Find That I Am Naked and The Syringa Tree to North of the Sixtieth Parallel – A Zeitgeist Cabaret, The Resurrectionists, Jenny Hamilton – Teenage Cult Leader, and the darkly funny feminist musical WYRD – A Musical UnFairytale.

On Sunday, June 28, we're swapping stagecraft for teatime and creating an afternoon of delicious delights by the river. Come raise a teacup with us, support local theatre, and help ensure there are many more gloriously unhinged stories still to come.

Join us at 7 PM on Tuesday, June 16 at the Old Firehall for a workshop reading of ANYOX, a brand-new play by Tony Berto.

Brought to life by Patti Flather, Brenda Barnes, Mary Sloan, and Antoinette Green-Oliph, Anyox digs into what happens when long-buried truths finally claw their way to the surface. Loyalties are tested, friendships are stretched thin, and family ties are put through the wringer in this compelling new work.

If you've spent any time around the Yukon arts scene, chances are you've crossed paths with Tony Berto—one of our favourite humans and a collector of careers. Over the years he's been an ornithologist, university instructor, film reviewer, lighting technician, front-of-house wizard, brewer, bartender, historian, essayist, poet, and playwright. (We're probably forgetting a few.)

As a playwright, Tony has seen 18 of his works staged in venues across Canada and the United States, with two earning Toronto Fringe Best New Play honours. His non-fiction and academic work explores local history, Q***r Canadian history, and the stories we tell ourselves through performance. These days, he splits his time between Guelph and Whitehorse, continuing to uncover fascinating stories and turn them into unforgettable theatre.

Come pull up a chair, hear a new play take its first steps into the world, and help us give Tony the warm Larrikin welcome he deserves.

Calling all volunteers! Fancy lending a hand for a good cause?

Larrikin is brewing up a spectacular Tea Time fundraiser on June 28, and we're looking for a few wonderful volunteers to help make the magic happen!

We're seeking kitchen assistants for Chef Val, servers, venue decorators, a clean up crew and behind the scenes heroes. Whether you can spare a few hours or a full day, your support will help turn a day of tea, treats, and merriment into a truly memorable occasion.
