09/09/2024

Upcoming Episode…this Monday September 9 2024 with the wonderful cellist Julia MacLaine ! I have known Julia for many years in her role as Assistant Principal Cello of Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra | l'Orchestre du Centre national des Arts of which I am also a member. In this episode we’re highlighting her gorgeous album Preludes which pairs the Preludes of J.S. Bach with newly commissioned works for solo cello by Canadian composers. Julia and I talked about many things...lots more coming about this episode on Monday!

So grateful for this concert opportunity with Carson Becke 🎹 and Bruce Cawdron 🪘 in Pontiac on May 21st. I didn’t know the Ethel Smyth Sonata…did you? It’s gorgeous! 🌺 Oh and Cello practice during baby 👶 naps = ULTRA efficient practicing! ✅

Julia Maclaine plays music for the cello in three wildly contrasting partnerships.
