On April 8th, the CRD Board unanimously voted to adopt Bylaw No. 4704 to establish a new Performing Arts Facilities Service (PAFS). The bylaw received elector assent through Alternative Approval Process.

The bylaw’s adoption is an important milestone in an ongoing process. With the legal framework now in place, the Performing Arts Facilities Service will be incorporated into the planning process for Budget 2027. 2026 will be largely a transition year with the implementation of the new initiatives beginning in 2027.

We heard you, now we need you!

Over the past few days, we’ve received an incredible number of emails, messages, and conversations from people who care deeply about Hermann’s and View Street Social.
One thing has been clear in all of them:

You want a chance to save it.

So we’re giving you that chance.

Today, we’re launching a community pledge campaign to raise $450,000, the amount needed to stabilize the organization, pay down inherited debt, and repair the long-neglected building and equipment.

If we reach that goal, Hermann’s and View Street Social will reopen on solid ground.

If we don’t, they will close.

This is not about building something new.

This is about preserving something that already matters to you, to musicians, and to this city.

For 45 years, Hermann’s has been a place where music lives.

Where people connect.

Where moments happen that don’t happen anywhere else.

Now it’s at risk of disappearing.

Here’s how it works:

You make a pledge today.
We track the total.
If we reach $450,000 by April 26th 2026, we contact you to complete your contribution.
If we don’t, no funds are collected.

Make your pledge here:

https://savehermannsandvss.com/

We can’t do this without you.

Let’s see what this community can do.

With gratitude,
Arts On View Society
