Born in Salluit (1930) and later based in Kimmirut / Lake Harbour, Eva Itulu is a respected Inuit sculptor known for her expressive and intimate carvings.
Working in stone, ivory, and mixed materials, her work often depicts mother and child figures, Arctic wildlife, Sedna, and traditional Inuit narratives, capturing both emotion and cultural memory with remarkable clarity.
Eva began carving in the early 1970s alongside her husband, Davidee Itulu. Together, their family became a recognized artistic lineage in Kimmirut, with several of their children continuing the tradition.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Canadian Guild of Crafts (Montreal), Four Winds Gallery (Sydney, Australia), Art Space Gallery (Philadelphia), and Galerie Saint-Merri (Paris).
Her carvings are also held in major public collections such as the Art Gallery of Windsor, Museฬe des beaux-arts de Montreฬal, Dennos Museum Center, and the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery.
Today, Eva Ituluโs sculptures are sought after for their authenticity, warmth, and strong connection to Inuit life and storytelling. Now on display and available for acquisition at Bloch Bauers Gallery of Fine Art.
