Thank you Jamey Koch for your generosity. For your mixing mastery and production prowess. Thank you Lone Willow for lending your beautiful voice to this project—it wouldn’t be the same without you ❤️. Thank you Music PEI for being so supportive and welcoming to a new arrival. Your staff has been absolutely wonderful and it’s meant so much. Thank you Andrew from Andrew Downton for making these songs sound so amazing. And thank you Howies Loft for giving RxHx the home it needed. I can’t imagine having made this anywhere else and I’m looking forward to sharing what we made together with the world.

The frost is coming. The studio is cool and the machines are adding necessary warmth. I always gravitate back to the Analog Four for its beautiful dirty tones. Here’s a little thing I made with it and the Digitakt. I’m in the process of making new sounds and little loops as I see what happens next. I’ve been sending out the finished album as well and the feedback has been lovely to hear. It will come out when it is supposed to. Thank you 🙏 🖤

This week I got the masters back for the RxHx album and felt really great to hear them finally finished. Before I sink into the inevitable spiritual crisis that every winter brings I’m spending my time making pretty little snippets on the Digitakt and Digitone. It’s making me happy 😊

My dear synth friend lent me an Digitone and I finally got space to dive into its vast possibilities today. I paired it up with the Digitakt and made something sparkly to combat the general heaviness I’ve felt in the past couple days. And then sun came out and even the cold fall wind I could feel its warmth.

A layered Korg Volca Keys bass line and a bunch of Elektron Analog 4 noise with a blown out Digitakt drums.

Deep in the basement of the RxHx studio in Vancouver there were miles of tunnels. During down time I would explore often getting lost in the labyrinth of dark passages. I’d regularly hear footsteps scurrying into the dark and on this particular occasion I discovered a wheelchair in a secluded alcove…
The evidence is undeniable.

The current RxHx studio has a vast attic space that I may document. I’ve heard movement.
•
This is a little Elektron Analog 4 and Digitakt loop I’ve been messing around with while I slowly clean up and reconfigure the studio. The album is now being mixed so I have a little space to make things a little more manageable. •

A final Montreal piece. It’s a longer one and it’s probably ridiculous to throw it up on Instagram but I’m doing despite the fact my own attention span is barely five seconds these days. This opens on another beautiful piece by Montreal artist as it dreams of the Jarry metro station…

A few days in Montreal.
A series of small loops came out of the Elektron boxes that came for the trip.

I’m in Montreal staying at my artist friend ‘s apartment. She’s in Italy making art so I’m alone with her collages and sculptures making little pieces on the Digitakt and Analog 4. The new RxHx album is almost completed so I’m taking this little break to play with arpeggios, Euclidean bleeps and distorted pads before I head back to the island studio next week. It’s peaceful here…
