RxHx updates!

First of all this coming Halloween at RxHx is playing on an amazing bill with and .music —music starts at 8 and RxHx is first up so get there early. The next show on November 22 with at the is sold out so this could be the last time in 2025 you’ll be able to see RxHx live.

A new ambient piece “September is the Brightest Death” will be released in two weeks exclusively on as part of the RxHx monthly ambient series. This one was made entirely on the incredibly versatile Analog Four.

October has arrived and we love showcasing creative artists such as RXHX!

We interviewed him during the Friday Night Freak Show in August and discovered his hypnotizing synth-punk electronic sounds. 🎶

Another beautiful shot by Vancouver photographer from the August show at with dear friends and —plus a cute portrait of my newly added Digitakt cozying up to her Elektron Analog Four brother on a work table that’s getting unmanageably cramped for space. She doesn’t seem to mind though and she’s making beautiful sounds to fill future RxHx songs.

Today feels like fall in the city. I’ve dug my wool sweater out of the wardrobe so I can keep the windows of Unit 9 Studios open as I play with the little Korg Volka Keys sequencer and sample little pieces. Cutting up sound opens endless wide avenues of possibilities and lush glitchy beauty. I can’t express my gratitude enough for my dear friend who passed this little Korg plastic box onto me. It’s quite magical in both its sounds and inherent limitations that keep me in check.

Due for release on September 12, 2025 “August Is The Saddest Month” was composed in August 2025 and is the first part of a 12 song ambient album that is being recorded over 12 months and will be released in its entirety in August 2026. These ambient pieces act as a counterpart to RxHx’s wide releases and will be available only on Bandcamp, one each month, until the full album is completed when it will be released on streaming services.

August Is The Saddest Month is an acknowledgement that summer is coming to an end and the sun drenched languid dream it inhabited is fading to obscurity. This piece was created in Unit 9 Studios using analog synths including the Elektron Analog 4, Korg Volka Keys, and a Korg Minilogue.

Now that August, the saddest month of the year, has come to a close RxHx is putting the finishing touches on an ambient piece that will be released solely on in the coming weeks. Composed nearly entirely on the Elektron Analog 4 it’s been a rewarding exercise in sculpting synth sounds. Anyway, it’s coming soon!

RxHx is now deep into rehearsing for the August 8th show with and at —tweaking patches, pounding coffee, crafting filter sweeps, modifying ADSR envelopes, more coffee, tightening lyrics, forgetting to eat, messing with LFOs for hours on end, changing lyrical phrasing, bumming a menthol cigarette from a stranger on the street during a rare venture outside the dark confines of Unit 9 studios, EQing bass tracks, more coffee, researching the mixolydian flat 7 scale…coffee…
