One of my favorite memories of my mother, is her beautiful, thick and long hair⦠so beautiful that as a child back then, I'd always wished I could have her hair when I grow up.
But, it broke my heart when she told me that she wanted to cut it short, very very shortβ¦ She wanted to cut it because she was losing so much hair from chemotherapy. Her sisters and friends got her a wig quickly after, and I can see the bitter-sweetness behind her smile. How much she wished she didnβt have to cut her most precious hair offβ¦ οΏ½She didnβt have to fight cancer for too long, as she passed away 2 months after she was diagnosed, and I was 10.
Fast forward to today, I finally finished creating these 3 items. 3 little somethings that goes into a big gift basket for a fundraising event for βWigs for Kids BCβ Wigs for Kids B.C. - βa unique program that provides funding so that every child in BC that lost their hair from medical treatment could receive a wigβ.
