Pierre basically looked at the press gallery and said...

You boys brought a chainsaw for me and a butter knife for Carney.

And that’s the problem.

Grill Poilievre.

He’s a politician. That’s your job.

But if Mark Carney is Prime Minister, maybe somebody could occasionally ask him something that isn’t wrapped in bubble wrap.

The guy running the country should not be getting the easiest press conference in the country.

That seems like a fairly reasonable standard.

“I CAN'T BELIEVE TRUMP IS GOING TO PUBLICLY EXECUTE AN ISLAMIC TERRORIST!”

Funny how quickly some corners of the political left discover morality when the circumstances suit them.

You celebrated when Charlie Kirk was assassinated. A husband and father murdered in broad daylight, and many of you treated it like a national holiday.

After the Tumbler Ridge massacre, you were busy arguing over how people described the shooter's gender identity while a community was mourning murdered children.

You championed Lindsay Clancy's insanity defence, with supporters fighting for a not-guilty verdict after the deaths of her three young children.

You turned Luigi Mangione into a folk hero after the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Apparently, shooting someone becomes revolutionary when you dislike their profession.

You were furious that Trump's would be assassin missed. One Democratic congressional staffer even suggested the gunman needed shooting lessons.

You defended George Floyd's right to justice regardless of his criminal history.

During COVID, some of you openly mocked unvaccinated people who died. There were entire online communities dedicated to turning their deaths into entertainment.

You cheered when the Canadian government froze bank accounts connected to the Freedom Convoy. Apparently, civil liberties came with political terms and conditions.

And some student activists even characterized the October 7 Hamas attacks as a victory for resistance.

But NOW?

Now we're supposed to believe that a convicted mass murderer responsible for killing 13 people at Fort Hood is the reason you've suddenly rediscovered human dignity?

Here's the difference between having principles and having political preferences.

You can oppose the death penalty. You can oppose broadcasting an ex*****on. You can argue for due process, mental health defences and constitutional protections.

But those principles have to apply even when you hate the person involved.

If you condemn political assassination on Monday but celebrate it on Tuesday because you prefer the target, guess what sweetheart... that's called hypocrisy.

If you defend civil liberties for your favourite protesters but applaud extraordinary government powers against your opponents, that's also called hypocrisy.

So spare me the sudden lectures about compassion.

Some of you have spent years laughing at the deaths of people you dislike, making excuses for violence when it suits your politics, and cheering when the government went after Canadians who dared to disagree.

But now Trump is involved, and suddenly you're clutching your pearls and lecturing everyone about human rights?

Give me a break.

You've made it painfully clear that your outrage depends entirely on who's on the receiving end. And the rest of us are getting pretty damn tired of being lectured about morality by people who can't even apply their own standards consistently.

Apparently Ottawa has found another way to make a simple rebate program look like a corporate family reunion.

$2 billion for heat pumps.

Brookfield-connected companies in the same market.

A Prime Minister with deep ties to Brookfield.

Then everyone acts offended when somebody asks whether there is a conflict.

Please lol.

If the safeguards are airtight, show them.

If the recusals are clear, publish them.

If the procurement rules shut out any preferential treatment, prove it.

Because “trust us” has become one of the least valuable currencies in Canadian politics.

Remember when losing 110,000 jobs in two months would have been considered bad economic news?

I guess we’ve modernized.

Canada shed 41,700 jobs in August and another 68,300 in September.

Unemployment moved up to 6.5%.

And young Canadians took another kick in the teeth, with youth employment down 48,000 in September.

But don’t worry.

Somebody in Ottawa has a chart showing everything is going according to plan.

Probably printed in colour too.

It sure is weird how all of the floor-crossings stopped once Carney got his majority.

I'm sure it's nothing though.

Has the West become too weak to resist political Islam?

I don't know about you guys, but I am developing a serious political crush on Paul St-Pierre, the Premier of Quebec.

QUEBEC... I can't believe I just said that.

Mark Carney: “Affordability is the best it has been in over a decade.”

Canada: One in three food charities are turning hungry people away because they can’t keep up.

Apparently “affordable” now means you can still see the groceries through the food bank window.

A new national survey found 89% of organizations saw demand increase over the past year, while 35% had to turn people away because they didn’t have enough food or resources. Nurses and teachers are reportedly showing up for help too.

But sure.

Best affordability in a decade.

Maybe somebody should tell the people standing on the waitlist.

They apparently missed the memo from Ottawa.

There is a point where being “nice” stops being moral and starts being stupid.

The tolerance paradox explains it perfectly.

A society can be incredibly open, forgiving and pluralistic.

But if it extends that generosity to people who openly intend to dismantle those same freedoms, eventually the tolerant people lose.

Not because tolerance failed.

Because nobody defended it.

You can leave the front door unlocked to prove how welcoming you are.

That doesn’t make the burglar enlightened.

It just makes his evening easier.
