Today is an important day in Mad Salsa history.
This morning, we're officially announcing that all plans for an upcoming event are put on hold until further notice. The directors' decision was unanimous.
There is one and only one reason we have taken this difficult decision. As we were looking at what the next chapter, the next adventure, would be, the event we envisioned was at a scale way beyond anything we've ever done before. And to be honest, I'm not sure we're ready for it.
Q: But why? Why? WHY!!???!?
It was a crazy, wild, over-the-top journey these past few years. We created the VIS to put on an event vastly superior and more innovative than anything else out there, to make it the biggest baddest festival.
The next event needs to exceed what we have done before and deliver on the Mad Salsa vision: passion for dancing, excellence in production.
Q: Are the rumours of Chris and Che fighting true?
Nope. They had a disagreement over a game of rock, paper, scissors – that's it. Alessandra and Betty, however, that's a completely different story...
Q: Will there be another festival in Vancouver?
We hope so. It just won't be organised by us.
As we spend time away from the madness, evolving and changing, we'll have this little idea of October 3 in the back our heads and when the time comes for this new chapter, you'll be the first to know.
In the meantime, we'd like to thank you for all the amazing moments we've had together and hope to share some new ones in the future.
