To Love Or Not To Love is an original absurd play-within-a-half-musical inspired by Nezami Ganjavi’s timeless Romantic Epic Khosrow and Shirin. Set inside a contemporary rehearsal room, the play follows a group of actors attempting to stage the ancient love story, only to find their own relationships, desires, and unresolved pasts gradually intertwining with the story they are performing.

Can love truly save us—or is it simply another beautiful pain we continue to rehearse?

French-Senegalese singer-songwriter anaiis is making her Canadian debut at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts on September 16 at 7:30 pm. With her gentle, powerful music, she explores transformation, connection, and the possibilities that emerge from embracing change with grace.

anaiis’s latest release, Devotion & The Black Divine, was named one of the top albums of the year by both BBC and Apple Music. Recorded live-to-tape in London, the work is deeply influenced by anaiis’s new experience as a mother, as she explores what it means to be unabashedly human. The album is a meditation on the natural world, inner selves, and recognizing people’s innate divinity.
