In shadows cast by moon’s soft glow,
Behold the Mari Lwyd’s mystic show.
A creature born of Welsh lore’s delight,
To banish darkness and welcome light.

With ribbons fluttering, and skull so white,
She dances through the veil of night.
A symbol of ancient tradition’s might,
Bringing joy and laughter, oh so bright.

In the Gallery at Slice of Life,
a Mari stands tall,
Crafted with care, she heeds the call.
To honor tradition, to cherish the old,
A symbol of stories yet to be told.

With every stitch and every thread,
I’ve woven the tales that lie ahead.
So let’s raise a cheer, let’s rejoice and sing,
For the Mari Lwyd, a timeless thing!

You too can celebrate the Mari Lwyd with a hand carved and printed Lino print of the Mari Lwyd. Available at Slice of Life Giftshop, 1636 Venables St, Vancouver BC!
