HDC is an adult dance studio located in downtown Vancouver offering over 100 drop-in classes a week. Two separate weeks are for adults and teenagers (Ages 14+).

Harbour Dance Centre Offers:

-Drop-in Classes (ages 16+) from beginner to professional.

-Classes in Advanced Contemporary, Ballet, Contemporary Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Pointe, Hip Hop, Popping, Waacking, Tap, Keep it Sexy, Heels, Bollywood, Grooving, Jazz Funk & Theatre Dance.

- Summer School Intensive: takes place in the month of July. Intensive Training Program (ITP): consists of 13 classes/a week in dance, voice, fitness, performance and other dance related studies. The scholarship directors and participants work closely together and after careful evaluation the directors customize the participants training program and guide them throughout the program. Acceptance into the program is by audition only. To be eligible for the program, students must be at least 17 years of age and dancing at an intermediate level in jazz and ballet. Eva Draw is a former Associate Professor at the School of Dance at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and recipient of the 2020–2021 Excellence in Teaching Award. She trained at the Moscow State Academy of Choreography (Bolshoi Ballet Academy), danced with the Stanislavsky Ballet Theatre, and studied ballet pedagogy at GITIS under Marina Semyonova. Eva later joined Canada’s National Ballet School, earning distinctions in the Cecchetti Method and becoming a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. In 2009 she joined the Royal Danish Ballet and Royal Danish Ballet School as Ballet Mistress, coaching principal dancers and staging major productions including La Bayadère. ⁠

Bio:

Born in Vancouver, KV Maison is a dancewear label created by two friends, Kate and Vy, brought together by a love of ballet, beautiful things, and self-expression.

Kate, a dancer and teacher, leads the creative vision — designing leotards that feel expressive, elegant, and a little unexpected. Vy brings the business mind and turns those ideas into reality. Together, they believe dancewear can be both functional and beautiful, leaving room for personality.

KV comes from their initials. Maison, French for “house,” is our nod to fashion — a little house built around movement, creativity, and connection.

Each piece is designed in Vancouver and handmade in Vietnam by our talented seamstress, Trinh, in small batches and limited editions. Every design passes through human hands, with intention at every step.

The elephant in our logo represents what dance leaves with us beyond the studio: memory, resilience, belonging, and the people who become family along the way.

From Toronto, Lauren Hope is a dancer & choreographer based in Vancouver. Her movement is influenced by her mentors from Artist in Motion’s Mentorship program – Shameka Blake, Mariano Abarca, Tuch, & Hollywood Jade – & by Peter D’Souza, who shaped her skillset in commercial styles. She also trained in street-styles with Footnotes under the direction of Andrew "Pyro" Chung, and technical styles like Contemporary, Jazz, & Ballet. Professionally, Lauren has worked with Artists in Motion on many dance projects, and gained TV & commercial experience with Family Channel & Quaker Oats. After moving to Vancouver, Lauren joined Illustrative Society & performed in their 2024 production, ICON. As choreographer, Lauren was Director for Project U&G, & showcased work at Artists Emerge & The Main Event. She was also Assistant Choreographer to Peter D’Souza for works performed by Quill Collective, Source Dance Company, and Weekend Warriors. As a teacher, Lauren has taught at respected studios across Toronto and Vancouver, where she aims to share her love of dance as a means to connect with ourselves & grow our artistry.

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is a specialized conditioning program collaborating Pilates and floor barre exercises aimed to improve strength and alignment. The use of yoga and fusion balls, therabands, etc. is an instant source of feedback. It is an excellent compliment not only to your ballet training, but to anyone looking to increase flexibility, stamina, control and injury prevention.
