This is such a great show. Hours later and I’m still thinking back to poignant or hilarious or heartbreaking moments from the show last night. It’s simply wonderful.
It’s the type of show that fires me up and reminds me to speak up for this industry that I’ve chosen to be in, and this life I have pursued. To keep fighting. As an artist is relights my flame. 🔥
If it’s within your power to do so, support the Arts. Attend these festivals, go to your local entertainment venue and support what’s on, take a class from someone working in the field, vote for governments and representatives who wish to support the arts industry and artists, or buy original work whether it’s music or art or locally crafted.
Last night I looked at the audience and felt the decent portion in attendance were artists themselves as part of the festival. The Melbourne Fringe Festival gives so much, but I don’t see it being supported in this city in how I’ve seen Fringe Festivals supported in other cities around the world.
Stories are powerful and eternal and you go see a piece like this, you are the better for it. Plus an hour of straight laughter works wonders. It’s to your benefit.
Artists and art creates communities and if we don’t support art and artists, we lose access to this thing that contributes so much to our own, and our societies wellbeing.
The Arts are important.
It’s important what we do.
In short, this is a f***ing great show. It deserves to be seen and supported.
