I was asked to make a very special Father's Day gift. Roslyn sent me a picture of what she was looking for
( 1st picture).
She wanted it made with her son's baby clothes, each piece of clothing was bought by her dad. I added some navy fabric to make it work.
I wanted to wait until her dad received before posting picture. She messaged me today to let me know how much he loved it. 🥰
I love sewing, especially things that are meaningful for the recipient.

I love to sew, especially items that have a special meaning for the recipient. Here are a few pictures of the memory pillows and bear I recently made for a friend friend/her family out of their mothers clothing.
I was given a birthday card with Love Mom and was asked if I was able to embroider her signature. 🥰 I was also asked if I would add a small cardinal on one of the pillows. It had a special meaning for one of the daughters(Laura).
A cardinal is a sign our loved ones are always with us. ❤️
I feel truly honored when someone trust me to make such special items. Knowing the things I create provides some comfort and healing after the loss of a loved one feeds my soul.
Thank you Carolyn/Laura for asking me to make these special items for your family. The love you have for your mom is so beautiful. May you all find comfort in all of the cherished memories. ❤️

"The Cost of Freedom" Wallhanging.
This is a beautiful design to honor those who fought for our Freedom. Each block is done on the embroidery machine. If you zoom in you will see the beautiful details of the embroidery . ( All of the figures are embroidered with black/grey thread). The pictures do not do it justice.
This is my favorite project to make, it so dear to my heart.
My dad and several of my uncles were veterans.
Both of my parents were two of the founding members of Sydney Harbour Fortification Society. This Society was successful in preserving/restoring Fort Petrie Military Museum, Cape Breton.
Today my brother Rob continues to preserve/ promote the important history of Fort Petrie. (Guided tours).
