Join us for a workshop on Building an Accessibility Framework for Film Production. Tuesday, February 25, 11am–1pm on Zoom.
Please get in touch with [email protected] for the link.
In this workshop, led by .c, participants will explore different models of disability and examine how accessibility can be applied both personally and as a foundational principle for film and television production. The workshop will cover strategies for communicating individual needs and processes, creating intake surveys, and addressing key factors throughout the development and production stages. Additional topics will include disability narratives and tropes, accessibility riders and documents, concepts such as access intimacy and crip time, disability culture and accessibility roles in film and television, and budget considerations. The workshop will conclude with a Q&A session.
Participants will develop practical skills rooted in care work and disability justice, learning how to integrate accessibility into their production plans and creative processes. By understanding how to prioritize accessibility from the outset and advocate for their own needs, participants will build confidence in cultivating inclusive spaces. Regardless of ability or identity, all participants will benefit from reflecting on how care-based approaches can be integrated into their own work, relationships, and communities.
