Toronto Bloomsday Festival

Toronto Bloomsday Festival ReJoyce!! Now in its 32nd year, the Toronto Bloomsday Festival was founded by Mary Durkan and Judy McGilligan in 1986.

Bloomsday is an international Literary Holyday celebrating James Joyce's seminal novel Ulysses in which Leopold Bloom, a Dublin Jew, and a cityful of other colourful characters go about their lives in the city of Dublin on June 16th, 1904. "There's something wonderfully mad about celebrating a man who never existed on a day that never was" (Mary Durkan, Artistic Director Anna Livia Productions). Bloomsday Toronto is directed by Richard Harte and produced by Anna Livia Productions.

We are terribly sad to share the news that our dear friend, Kevin Kennedy passed away this morning. He was an absolute giant in our Toronto Bloomsday Family. He was an extraordinary actor and musician. His voice and presence will be sadly missed. Fondly remembered and celebrated.
