The holds a special place in my film journey. It was the first festival I volunteered with when I arrived in Canada, and I continued volunteering with them over the years.
On my very first volunteer shift, I also met someone who remains an active friend today, and Iβm truly grateful for this connection.
Today, to be part of the 14th edition of this same festival as a filmmaker under the Being Black in Canada (BBIC) Program feels incredibly special.
This festival has consistently provided space for me to grow, build skills, and showcase my work, and I think this is a perfect time to show my appreciation.
TBFF 2026 is packed with powerful films. Grab your tickets, or better still, get the All-Access Pass. It's usually fun and inspiring throughout, and you wonβt want to miss any part of it.
My short documentary, Straight Out of Africa, produced through the Fabienne Colas Foundationβs Being Black in Canada Program, screens on February 13.
