Today (September 30) is the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. Please reflect, educate yourself, and explore the rich and diverse cultures, voices, experiences and stories of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

We have gathered links to un-learn the myths of colonial history in Canada, watch films about residential schools in Canada and become an industry ally by completing the Shine Network Institute’s and the National Screen Institute’s P.A.C.T. online course. Please use these resources, and share them with others.

There are no AI protections for performers in commercial contracts. None. ACTRA Toronto Members are standing together to change that.

The ACTRA Toronto AI Committee is sharing a simple yet powerful rider you can negotiate into your commercial contracts. It's built on the three C's: consent, control and compensation. It also goes further, to prevent your likeness and voice from being used to train generative AI models.

Let's ride, together. 🏍️
