Many months before SHAOLIN SOCCER made its premiere in July of 2001, the Action Director, Ching Siu-Tung accidentally leaked a picture of Vicki Zhao Wei, bald, as seen in the movie finale when proving that Stephen and Vicki were not in a relationship.
The media was speculating because Vicki would always lean on Stephen and appeared very affectionate. Ching Siu-Tung, who is very close with Stephen, clarified their relationship is purely professional, and that Vicki is that way with him too.
He described her as the ‘soft-boned princess’, often leaning her body in need of support, even against a table, causing it to slide when staff were eating. This forced Ching Siu-Tung to intensify Vicki’s training to build her core strength 💪
Cao Hua, who went on to stunt work under Ching Siu-Tung on 2 more blockbusters back-to-back, HERO (2002), starring Jet Li and HOUSE OF THE FLYING DAGGERS (2004), starring Andy Lau.
