Meet Aaron & Kate and their little family of four.🙂
I’ve realized I haven’t posted a ton of family work and I want to change that! Along with weddings I do quite a few family sessions and I have come to love them a lot! I think with having my own family, my perspective has changed. I value the time I have with my own family and documenting it is so important! I want to share that with others!
My goal for 2020 is to photograph tons of families and make prints to go on the walls of their homes!
I’m also working on a family session section on my website! I’ll be sure to announce it when it’s live!🤙

Sometimes it’s about the quiet moments. Trying to spot the calm in the chaos is one of my favourite things to do on a wedding day.

I rolled into the new year with these legends!
It’s been nice taking a break from my phone and computer these past two weeks. It’s hard to let go and just be present sometimes but I did my best and well... I’m glad. It’s nice to be back and I’m excited for what this year has in store!
Carolee and I are planning an epic road trip in February for three weeks. We can’t wait!! Any of you planning on getting away?

2019... such an interesting and exciting year for my business and my family...
Business- this was an interesting year because I had the least amount of weddings I have had in a long time. I shot 25 weddings. Going into 2019 I was anxious and a wee bit scared because in previous years I have had upwards of 35/40 weddings. Looking back now this was my biggest year of growth as a photographer. Shooting “less” gave me the opportunity to focus more on my craft and as you know, really dive into film! I also saw a bit of a shift as I shot the most family photo sessions to date and really found a soft spot for them! I see 2020 being a busy year of family sessions and I am pumped for it! I feel more confident than ever picking up my camera but also that excitement has returned!
Family life- Oakley got to see a ton of new places as we were lucky enough to have travelled quite a bit. We finished a renovation, listed/sold and purchased a new house. I am glad I had less weddings because this was a busy year for us personally! I documented our daily life and made an album of it and it is one of my most favourite items! As much as it was busy, I feel we really found a groove with balancing work and family time. I loved that and hope we can take that into 2020.
I love that my top 9 is a mix of work and family. That was my goal with Instagram for 2019... let you get to know me a bit more!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all you beautiful people out there!🎄
Unfortunately we don’t feel like this photo right now. We are all settling in for a nap so we can rally this evening for some turkey and some spiked eggnog.
