TORONTO CENTRE / WARD 13 — WE MUST ELECT CURRAN STIKUTS

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST FAR AND WIDE.

We need a City Councillor who shows up, listens and fights for EVERY constituent — including tenants.

New ownership and Cedarmount Capital took over our building at 134 Carlton Street on July 1, 2024. Since then, we have endured relentless vital service disruption, neglected maintenance and conditions that have made our lives a living hell.

We believe the objective is clear: push legacy tenants out, renovate the apartments and charge higher rents.

Gentrification, plain and simple — at the expense of people who call this building home; many for decades.

Through all of this, Councillor Chris Moise has not personally intervened on our behalf. Not once. Despite hundreds of emails to his office.

Our former City Councillor and current MPP, Kristyn Wong-Tam, has. She and her staff have repeatedly advocated for us, pursued answers and pressed for action. The documentation linked below shows their extensive efforts.

Why have tenants had to rely on our provincial representative to pursue action on municipal responsibilities?

Where is our City Councillor?

Curran Stikuts has already visited our building, met with tenants and listened to our concerns. Before even being elected, he has shown us the personal attention and engagement we have been asking from our elected Councillor.

We also want to acknowledge Moise’s staff, particularly Marzio, who has done what he could to help us. Our criticism concerns the Councillor’s lack of leadership and personal involvement.

Tenants are constituents.

Our homes matter.

Our safety matters.

Our rights matter.

Our votes matter.

We deserve a Councillor who treats our concerns as a responsibility and acts on them.

Ward 13: elect Curran Stikuts.

Flash From My Past

This is pretty wild. I was a raver from 1994 to 2001. We didn’t have cell phones in those days so someone must’ve been using a video camera. I’m glad we didn’t have cell phones because I think they ruin the experience these days.

Forward to 7:36

That’s me in the Adidas tracksuit at the 1994 Atlantis rave on the Toronto Island Airport. I was 24.

AMAZING times.

Notice, the sun is up. Raves were Sat night, so this was Sun am. lol

Have Your Say

If you care about Toronto’s waterfront, I encourage you to take a few minutes to complete Transport Canada’s public consultation before July 24. I submitted my comments today, and here’s a brief summary of the points I raised.

https://tc.canada.ca/en/corporate-services/consultations/public-consultation-future-billy-bishop-toronto-city-airport

Aircraft Noise:
Modern regional jets may be comparable in noise to today’s turboprop aircraft. My concern is not a single aircraft, but the cumulative impact of increased flight activity.

Environment:
Future planning should consider impacts on migratory birds, wildlife, aquatic habitat, shoreline ecology, air quality, greenhouse gas emissions, and the long-term environmental effects of any runway expansion.

Noise Management:
Planning should evaluate cumulative noise exposure, flight frequency, operating hours, flight paths, and how increased activity affects surrounding neighbourhoods and the waterfront.

Transportation & Congestion:
Airport growth should not come at the expense of pedestrian access, cycling, public transit, ferry operations, or the overall accessibility and enjoyment of Toronto’s harbourfront.

Infrastructure:
Rather than building new infrastructure to support airport expansion, investment should prioritize preserving public access to the waterfront and improving active transportation.

Overall Position:
My answer to the proposal is no. While modern regional jets themselves may not be significantly louder than today’s aircraft, the cumulative impacts of increased flights, expanded infrastructure, and greater airport activity would permanently change the character of Toronto’s harbourfront. In my opinion, we have found a reasonable balance between airport operations and one of Canada’s most iconic public spaces, and I do not believe that trade-off is worth making.

I encourage anyone with an interest in Toronto’s waterfront to take a few minutes to complete the Transport Canada consultation and share their own perspective.

Who is up for a bit of a beautiful journey?

I produced this song a few years ago, and it’s a more progressive remix of my song Roaming, hence the name Roaming Harder.

I hope you enjoy it!!

I haven’t listened to it in a while, and it filled my heart with joy just now. 🤗

A powerful shift is happening around the world right now.

When you turn down the volume on the news, politicians, corporations, and institutions that profit from division, something very different becomes visible.

Across social media, love is on full display.

Fans from countries we are constantly told should fear, hate, or oppose each other are celebrating together, laughing together, dancing together, and recognizing one another’s humanity.

The World Cup reminds us of something simple but profound: most ordinary people around the world do not want conflict.

They want joy.
They want safety.
They want connection.
They want to belong.

The old “me versus you,” “us versus them” rhetoric is losing its power.

Humanity is remembering that we were never meant to be divided.

We are one.

Happy Pride.

God doesn’t hate.

God does not create divisions within humanity.

God is love.

All of God’s creations are equal, and all are loved.

If your religion teaches you to create divisions within humanity, that is not God’s will.

Homosexuality was not originally understood as a sin; that belief was written into later religious interpretations and modern translations.

It is ironic, and tragic, that religions around the world have so often been perverted into tools that create division and hate instead of love. Too often, they appeal to people’s lower instincts: tribalism, fear, judgment, and combat.

I have been celebrating Pride ever since I moved to Toronto in 1993. I haven’t attended every year. I stopped going for a while when police were banned from participating, because our diverse rainbow communities have never been about exclusion. To me, that was when a different kind of darkness crept into Pride.

But Pride itself remains an incredibly good time. The energy is positive. The air is electric.

If you have never experienced Pride, you should.

Pride exists, and will continue to exist, until every human being has extinguished hatred from their heart and learned to see every other human being as equal, worthy, and loved.

Now get out there.

Go dance.

Go have some fun.

And spread the love.

Why Pride Still Matters

Every year, someone asks why we still need Pride.

The answer is simple: because too many people are still taught that who they are is something to be ashamed of.

For generations, religious teachings have often been used to justify discrimination against LGBTQ+ people. Yet many historians, theologians, and scholars have shown that the anti-LGBT narratives we hear today are not nearly as clear-cut as many have been led to believe. Interpretations changed. Translations changed. Politics and culture influenced what people came to accept as religious truth.

I believe that God — Source, Creator, Universal Consciousness, whatever name you choose to use — does not create people only to reject them. If everything comes from the same Source, then every one of us is equally worthy of love, dignity, and belonging.

We have spent far too much of human history dividing ourselves into categories: race, gender, sexuality, age, nationality, ethnicity, religion, and countless others. These labels may describe our experiences, but they do not determine our worth.

At our core, we are human beings sharing the same planet and the same fundamental desire to love, be loved, and live authentically.

Pride is not about claiming superiority. It is not about excluding anyone. It is about celebrating diversity, embracing authenticity, and recognizing the unique gifts each person brings to our communities and to the world.

The rainbow reminds us that beauty is not found in uniformity. It is found in the full spectrum.

Happy Pride. 🏳️‍🌈❤️

Summer 2026 CE-5 Meditations

Close Encounters of the 5th Kind

What: CE-5 is a form of meditation and intentional contact—where we extend a conscious, telepathic invitation to our Star Brothers and Sisters to connect with us.

When: 3rd Sat of Jun-Sept
(departure times from public washroom at Leslie & Unwin are specific to the date and sunset)

Where: Leslie Spit / Thommy Thompson Park

It's a 4 km, 45 min, walk out and back and you need to be able to carry your gear.

Why: Please join us this summer for a shared experience of meditation, where we come together to send a message of universal peace, love, and harmony—and invite Star Nations to join us in person.

This is the year humanity begins to openly recognize the existence of Star Nations. There are over 1.3 million fellow sentient species within our Milky Way galaxy alone.

In 2027, First Contact will occur.

Many people are already being reached in subtle, strange, and beautiful ways. There’s a good chance your star family has been trying to connect with you.

Why not take a conscious step toward that connection?

√infinitE [sqrt(InfinitE)] is a three-hour live techno journey shaped by instinct, discipline, and long-form restraint.

Mixcloud https://www.mixcloud.com/CDJ_infinitE/infinite-sqrtinfinite-dj-infinite-studio-toronto/

Built entirely from newly released and newly discovered tracks, and my first time working with this material, the set follows a natural bell curve of energy. It opens with subtle invitation, moves through groove and tension, reaches a focused peak, then resolves gently to baseline. Nothing is rushed or forced. Each DJ and producer is allowed to speak in full sentences.

Rooted in raw, deep, hypnotic techno, the focus is continuity over spectacle and coherence over impact. Groove establishes trust, tension layers patiently, and intensity arrives only when inevitable. The descent is equally intentional, creating space for integration rather than abrupt release.

A complete arc, best experienced in one sitting.

DJ infinitE (aka DJ Greg Downer), Toronto techno DJ since 1995. Inspired and mentored by Dr. Trance (Don Berns). Techno as structure and journey.
