These lofi telephone mics keep getting crazier. I just finished putting together this 1920's style candle stick. It is a repro from the 80's but still has that amazing sounding Northern Electric/Western Electric element found in the G1 handsets so you're still getting all that fantastic compressed narrow band vintage sound you want from a lo-fi mic. One lucky customer just happened to be messaging me minutes after I had finished putting it together so they scooped it up before I even had a chance to list it. But that doesn't mean I can't make more. Just need to find them now...

Kicking off the summer, Space Station Rehearsals will be covering sound this Friday at Ravengrove for returning heroes from NYC, (who absolutely killed it last summer).

Huge shout out to for donating a pair of Yamaha PA's to Ravengrove for the summer. We're going to be putting them through their paces for the next three months.

Jesse will also be performing an opening acoustic set to start the summer right. Show starts at 7pm, $10, all ages, outdoor event. And if you don't know where Ravengrove is then go ask a punk!

"Jesse I really want to use one of your lo-fi mics but I'm a drummer. What do I do?" I hear you ask.

Well I just rebuilt this vintage Bell & Howell headset mic. Cables were in a bad way and the ear cups were quite dirty but now it has fresh connectors including upgrading the mic connection from 1/4" to XLR.

These are pretty freaking cool. Proper photos and audio samples coming soon.

We've got a duet of two-toned Model 500 lo-fi telephone mics finished up today. The pink & black (left) one is a Northern Electric Model 500 from the 60's. Mic is wired into the mouthpiece of the handset and features 10' of black coiled XLR. The black & pink (right) one is a Western Electric Model 500 from the 60's. Mic is wired into the mouthpiece of the handset and features 6' of black/grey cloth XLR. Both bases have been wired up where the hang up switch mutes the mic and the rotary dial adds a stutter effect. Both are available for $90 each.
