Happy Birthday to Bob Dylan! — a songwriter who didn’t just change music, but changed the way people listen to words.

Dylan showed generations of musicians that songs could be poetic, fearless, funny, mysterious, political, deeply personal, and endlessly open to reinterpretation — sometimes all at once. From folk clubs to stadiums, from protest anthems to surreal dreamscapes, his music continues to shape artists and audiences across every genre.

At New Morning, we’re endlessly inspired by the depth, humanity, and unpredictability of the Dylan songbook. Every time we play these songs, we’re reminded that great music isn’t frozen in time — it keeps evolving with the people singing and hearing it.

Here’s to Bob Dylan at 85, and to the songs that continue to bring people together to sing, dance, reflect, and celebrate.

What a beautiful night at The Rivoli celebrating Bob Dylan’s 85th birthday. A huge thank you to the 150 fine folks who came out to share the evening with us — we are so grateful for your support, your energy, and the spirit you brought to the room. One of the best parts of the night was seeing people singing and dancing together, all connected through a shared love of music and these timeless songs. Special thanks as well to Rose Pedal Band for opening the evening with such a great set, and to the fantastic staff at The Rivoli for making the whole night feel so welcoming and seamless.

Nights like this remind us why we love doing this so much, and we can’t wait to do it again. We’ve got lots more shows lined up in the months ahead, and you can find them all at newmorningplaysdylan.com. Hopefully we’ll be back at The Rivoli again next year to celebrate Bob Dylan’s 86th birthday together. Until then — Music is Love!
