This piece really gave me a run for my money! 😅
The resin was NOT cooperating. After having to sand it down after both the first and second coats, we were hopeful that the third coat was finally going to do the trick… until I went to check on it a few hours later.
A BIG fly had gotten stuck in it. 🪰😩
Yes, I know it should be covered, but I don’t have anything big enough—or enough space—to cover it on my small table. So, after carefully picking the fly out, I sprung into action and added a fourth layer.
And finally… it worked! 🙌😅
As frustrating as the process was, I’m so happy with how this piece turned out—and even happier that it will be going up for auction to help raise money for Children’s Aid, supporting kids who have lived experience in the system. ❤️
The auction goes live October 2, and I’ll share all the bidding information once it’s live.
Sometimes the pieces that fight you the most end up being the ones that mean the most. ❤️
MIDNIGHT STROLL
34 x 34
Digital Photobashing finished with art resin set in a custom frame with a vintage light to really set the mood.
ARTIST STATEMENT
While enjoying a little garden herb, Justin may or may not have been pressured into raiding a few neighbourhood flowerbeds.
Now he’s on his midnight stroll home, trying his best to look inconspicuous under the glaring streetlight.
He’s alone, paranoid, and pretty sure someone is on to him - yet all he can think about is ordering a deluxe garden pizza when (if) he gets home 🐇🍕🥕
