Today, on , AFA Canada honours the children who never returned home, Survivors of residential schools, their families, and Indigenous communities across Canada. 🧡

It is a day for reflection, remembrance, education, and listening. We acknowledge the painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools and the importance of continuing the work toward truth, reconciliation, respect, and meaningful change.

Every Child Matters. 🧡

Anyone who received the AFA newsletter saw this yesterday, but to ensure our whole community knows of Robert's passing, we post this with heavy hearts as well.

To our Footwear Community,
We are sad to announce that Robert Graupensberger, a long member of the WCSA passed away Sunday, with Barbara (his wife, also an industry member) at his side.

Below is a message from Barbara:

Robert: 16/09/1958 (to young!!!!)
Moved to Canada 2006 (for shoes) – he loved his profession, the contact to the customers, traveling and most of all he loved Canada and was since 2025 a proud Canadian Citizen.
We met on March 27th, he proposed June 27th, got married August 27th and now passed on September 27th .When his health declined, I always said he waits for 27th…… and he did.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Barbara and family.
