Last cruise of the year on Obsession!

This party was so fun! Sometimes guests are shy to start things off, but not this group. Thank you for being so enthusiastic and keeping me busy for the whole cruise.

Spotted a pretty cool CN Tower reflection on the way home!

I can't believe how quickly it is getting cold out. We had such a hot summer that it is so jarring. I have a tonne of fun fall jackets though, so I hope it doesn't get too cold too quickly!

Life stuff ~
I have been a bit inactive these past few weeks. I have so many new photos and videos to share, and need to sit down and edit it. I always get sick around this time of year and it takes me a while to recover since I just keep on working. I think I am finally starting to be mostly better, still a few sniffles. I have also been shopping for a new car and man oh man it is a hard thing to sign on the dotted line for! Very exciting but soooooo scary for a small one person business/freelance artist like myself. My 17 year old car has served me well and I just keep thinking that maybe it's still fine, but I also travel so much around Southern Ontario that I really shouldn't leave it to chance. I know once I just commit everything will be fine šŸ˜… I have such an anxiety around big purchases like this. Next week I am taking a little bit of time to myself and going camping for a few days ~ I also have the new fire emblem and I can't wait to really get into it.

I love drawing on boats!

Yesterday was a lovely afternoon drawing on Tall Ship Kajama with a whole bunch of pirates! Everyone was dressed for the part. And I think I won the jackpot and drew the 3 best moustaches ever (scroll for moustache collection šŸ˜)

Caricature Artist Hayden joined me for this last minute request and we had a lot of fun drawing together!

Some of my favourite events are the ones that happen on boats!

Back on Obsession for an afternoon of caricatures and fun for Morrison Insurance. Everyone was excited to show off their drawings to their colleagues and see what they looks like as a cartoon.

The events are such a highlight for me. I love cruising around Toronto harbour as I draw. I don't notice the waves at all.

Happy September. September is a busy month filled with weddings, end of summer events , and the start of the school year.

Weekday afternoon BBQ for a Toronto Health Network.

It was so hard to choose which photo to show first, everyone took such nice photos with their artwork. Everyone was so excited to recieve a drawing, they kept me busy for the full 3 hours they booked for!

This was at cherry beach, after I took out one of my folding chairs and hung-out by the water. I have loved in toronto for over 10 years now, and have never really explored the beaches. It was a nice relaxing afternoon.

Weekday afternoon BBQ for a Toronto Health Network.

It was so hard to choose which photo to show first, everyone took such nice photos with their artwork. Everyone was so excited to recieve a drawing, they kept me busy for the full 3 hours they booked for!

Itā€™s been a couple of weeks since I drew flattering caricatures at the Jellycat store opening in Holt Renfrew

This was such a fun event to be a part of. I love store events when there is so much excitement. Everyone enjoyed he store and all the fun activations, and them came over to be illustrated with their Jellycat.

I actually didnā€™t know what the event was until I arrived. What a fun surprise! I had to draw everyone with their new Jellycat friends to fit the theme. They made for some cute drawings.

What are your end of Summer traditions?

I never went to the Ex as a kid, so I was surprised to know that it is so many Canadian's end of summer tradition. I am even more surprised to see how many people come back for their yearly caricature!

There were even a few people who came back for a second on the same day!

When I became a caricature artist, I never thought this silly artform would mean so much to so many people. I love hearing stories about when someone got a family caricature when they were little and it is still on the wall. It goes to show that even little things like this mean so much.

End of summer musings. I have been sick all week but I am still drawing. Come see me at the Ex with Quick Draw Caricatures, LLC These are a few drawings from the first week of the Ex.
