What have you been putting off?

The fridge that needs a real clean-out. The desk clutter you keep walking past. The novel that's been "almost started" for a year. The what?

Get It Done Club starts Monday. One hour, every Monday, 7-8pm. Jen and Selena Jones body double alongside you while you finally get to it.

Small investment, big returns. $10 drop-in or $25 a month.

We haven't done it either. That's kind of the point.

The August Joy Report is here, and it's a big one, AYS turned six this month.

Also inside: a hoya plant named Hope that blooms with its own perfume, a rainbow over a cottage lake, and a very good new addition to the family, a little dog named Amber. Plus some questionable but very catchy 1970s gibberish music, a talking starling with a lot to say, and the Drama Jammers are back this fall with their strawberry storyline.

In case you missed it...The July Joy Report is out!

A Queen Conch shell that's sat on one AYS-er's dresser since 1995, and the surprising thing she learned about it this month. A grandson's Canada Day patriotism, best described as enthusiastic. A wedding, a garden full of tiger lilies, and a sandwich recipe worth stealing.

Also this month: Anne of Green Gables has taken over AYS, complete with a Manse tour recap, a member's PEI pilgrimage, and a live discussion coming up August 6th. Plus Saya's second Health Corner piece on bone and muscle strength.

The July Joy Report is out!
Baby grosbeaks filmed from a window. A strawberry with a heart inside. Ice cream sandwiches eaten in pairs. A story about turquoise chairs outside a hospital that made one of our members stop and feel something good.
Also: Anne of Green Gables, a Zoom tour of the Manse where L.M. Montgomery wrote it, Cheryl's Badger in full Vermeer mode, and a national report that gave our Gentle Moves Dance programme a shout-out.

There's a kind of grief nobody talks about.
Not because it isn't real. But because nothing has technically been "lost" yet.
The grief of watching a parent decline. Knowing a relationship is ending before it officially does. A chapter of your life quietly closing. A future you pictured, slowly looking different.
It's called anticipatory grief. And most people carry it alone because they feel like they don't have the right to name it yet.
Tomorrow at 2pm ET, I'm sitting down with Selena Jones on Wiser Minds to have an honest conversation about it. What it actually is, why it feels so isolating, what it's like to live in the "not yet," and how to start honouring what you're feeling instead of just pushing through.
If any of that sounds familiar, join us. It's free, it's live, and it's the kind of conversation most of us wish we'd had sooner.

Every month I ask our AYS community: what brought you joy?
This month we got a groom pulled out of a ditch by a tractor on his wedding day. A badger posing for a Vermeer portrait. Lily of the Valley finally blooming after two years of patience. And this, from one of our members:
"Through AYS I learned about Maud Lewis and now I have one of her paintings hanging in my family room. When I went to Halifax I went to the art gallery and saw her little house. Thank you for contributing to my joy."
That's the June Joy Report. Books, laughs, recipes, music, and a lot of good company.
